ZAP-X Patient:
Antoinette
Diagnosis:
Meningioma
A smiling ZAP-X patient named Antoinette is shown in a close-up, black-and-white photograph. She is wearing glasses and a hoodie, with neatly curled hair. Antoinette is seated comfortably indoors, with a soft couch and framed artwork visible in the softly lit background. Her expression is warm and cheerful.

“When I was first diagnosed with a meningioma, it came as a complete shock. I had no symptoms and only discovered the tumor by chance during a CAT scan for an unrelated issue. In November 2013, I underwent my first craniotomy. I have always believed in facing life’s challenges with strength, and this was no different.”

“Then, I was diagnosed with the second meningioma in 2023. I underwent the second craniotomy in June 2023, with just a small incision on my right lateral skull. Remarkably, I was able to return to work within a few days.”

“When my neurosurgeon recommended ZAP-X® Gyroscopic Radiosurgery® as my next step, I had concerns about the effects of radiation and what the treatment process would be like.”

“Later that year I became the third patient at my treatment facility to undergo ZAP-X radiosurgery. The process consisted of three 45-minute sessions. At first, I felt anxious, even experiencing a panic attack when the mask was clamped to my nose—I felt “flattened.” But the reassuring presence of the physicists checking the safety of the machine, the calming sound of jazz music, and the thought of my late husband helped me get through it. By the second session, time seemed to pass much faster. I had never been in a machine like this before, but I trusted the technology and the precision it offered.”

“Looking back, I am so grateful for this option. After my final treatment, I was even able to go out to dinner with friends—something I never expected to do right away. ZAP-X is definitely a life saver. While researching, I saw only positive reviews, and I now understand why. More is not always better—sometimes, the right solution is one that’s made with precision. I am thankful for the care I received and hopeful for what’s ahead.”
