ZAP-X Marks a Milestone with First Patient Treatment in Korea

First patient treatment completed with the ZAP-X platform in South Korea makes national news. The expansion of advanced neuro-oncology care continues with a second installation currently in progress.

In a significant step towards fulfilling our mission of creating elite neuro-oncology programs anywhere and everywhere, ZAP Surgical Systems is proud to announce the treatment of the first patient in South Korea using the ZAP-X Gyroscopic Radiosurgery platform.

This groundbreaking event took place at Dankook University Hospital (DKUH) in Cheonan, South Korea, the largest general hospital in Chungnam Province. The hospital, which boasts 900 patient beds and 33 specialty clinics, was selected as the Chungnam Regional Cancer Center by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The first treatment made national news in Korea, marking a milestone for the country and the broader accessibility of radiosurgery. Dr. Lee Sang Koo, Vice President of DKUH, Neurosurgery, stated, “The integration of ZAP-X will allow us to deliver state-of-the-art treatment to the patients we serve.”

This achievement is a testament to our commitment to bringing next-generation non-invasive brain tumor treatment to patients worldwide. We look forward to continuing our work in expanding access to advanced neuro-oncology care.
